i downloaded a script named as Hype IRC, and i saw some nice "protection" when user click (in mirc) on tools /raws/aliases/popups , neither of those text editor windows wouldnt open (they are locked somehow) but it was not hacked mirc.exe coz i dl-ed clean mirc 6.12 so it must be done through scripting.... any1 knows how to do this perhaps?

this is done with a dll.

use your normal text editor to check the script files for the exact code

note that this doesn't disable the ability of a user to edit any of the scripts though it might take a LITTLE more effort...

you have to disable all $script related identifiers and commands too

and still then people can easely use something simple as notepad to edit the files

ya but i can stop the ppl from accidentally messng scripts up

How is it possible to accidentally mess things up?
People shouldn't get scripts which they can't check themselves for anomalities, and for that they need to know about scripting, and as they know scripting they should be smart enough not to save settings they made accidentally to script.

Anyways, if you have a script that you downloaded, that locks the remotes dialog and don't want to have to go searching for the files, then here is a lil program i made up to view em. Put it into your mirc directory, and type /load -rs mrcView.mrc

i am not interested in scripts files, i only am interested on how to lock remotes and others using ?? dll and using ?? commands of ?? dll

Use the script i provided, and look at what they used.

You have been told before. As far as this forum is concerned, messing with your mIRC in any such way as to prevent someone else from using it's functionality (in english: disable the remote editor) is lame and you will not be helped with it here. Grow up, get a life, don't be so friggin paranoid.
