Fool spamming the same message everywhere.

Download speed is determined by:
a) Your download speed.
b) The senders upload speed.

Yes, use a program made for filesharing, such as Kazaa or even ftp wink
DCC in mIRC is for sharing small files, such as pictures, etc. So there's no need to speed it up.

Be aware that many of those speed patches/apps can cause problems.

You missed the point. mIRC is capable of transferring bigger files, it's just that a dedicated p2p program such as Kazaa is much better (and faster) because of it's multi-user download capability; you can choose the highest bandwidth of each file. In mIRC, speed patches generally don't work because your transfer will only go as fast as the other person's connection.

Never compare yourself to others - they're more screwed up than you think.

Sure, you can move a 10 foot sofa in your VW Beetle, but it's certainly easier and smarter to get a truck with a 10 foot bed in the back :P

I'm not on mIRC, i'm on IRC wink
And i use IRC for about 3-4 years now, and never used it to transfer files bigger than 1 MB.
