I keep getting "Closing Link: 0.0.0.0 (No more connections allowed in your connection class)" when trying to connect to a server. Wonder how to resolve this. I tried searching around here, but had no luck. I use norton internet security. even when i turned that off, i sitll get the same connection error.

It's a server issue and nothing to do with your internet security settings. Just move on to a different server - it seems that the one you tried is full. smile

whats the difference between this message:

-madeupservername.net- *** Looking up your hostname...
-
-madeupservername.net- *** Checking Ident
-
* Identd request from 66.216.84.224
* Identd replied: 15117, 6667 : USERID : UNIX : J3OOJ3S
-
-madeupservername.net- *** Found your hostname
-
-madeupservername.net- *** Got Ident response
-
Closing Link: 0.0.0.0 (No more connections allowed in your connection class)

and this then

-madeupservername.net- *** Looking up your hostname...
-
-madeupservername.net- *** Checking Ident
-
* Identd request from 66.250.50.5
* Identd replied: 46320, 6667 : USERID : UNIX : J3OOJ3S
-
-madeupservername.net- *** Found your hostname
-
-madeupservername.net- *** Got Ident response
-
Closing Link: 0.0.0.0 (Sorry, server is full - try later)

Connection class refers to your status...i.e. if you were an IRCop or admin you would be allowed to join.

Those two are the same message and mean the same thing. It depends on the IRCd and whether or not the admin that compiled it edited a file called s_user.c in a function called register_user() to modify that message to a more user-friendly version of the same thing before they compiled it. Some IRCds come with the more user-friendly version already and don't require editing. The first message is the more "traditional" message.
