Forums mIRC Help PC game causing mIRC downloads to timeout!

Every time I play Pro Evolution Soccer 3 my mIRC downloads timeout.
note: Not played online

My System:
Athlon XP 2700+
768MB RAM
Radeon 9700 Pro
Windows XP Professional

With 1150MB Virtual Memory enabled, Nortons 2004 & Internet Security running in the background.

Is this normal?
I wouldnt have thought a game could do that!

I believe there have been reports of games conflicting with mIRC and causing problems with the DCC function. Try doing a Search. Are you sure it's only when you're running the game? Maybe Norton is interfering with it?

Either way, if you're using mIRC to chat and not to download illegal files, it shouldn't cause you many problems - After all, if you're downloading a file from your friend, the most it's going to take (provided it's not an illegal movie or music file) is 4/5 minutes. The game could wait!
