I can't register mIRC, because the registration pages won't accept my email address. It's a completely valid address - a .name address, but it's being rejected.

I was also rejected registering for these boards, so I've used a throwaway email address for registration here; it should last a couple of weeks before it gets spammed to hell and back.

What does the mail end with (after @ sign) (Note: do not post your e:mail here, as bots scan webpages all the time looking for addresses to spam >:P)

He just said it was a [email:user@somesite.name]user@somesite.name[/email] address.

Many primative scripts still check to make sure a TLD (top-level domain) is no longer than 3 letters, or that it matches a list of known TLDs... thus rejecting .info .name .arts, etc.

PS. Why didn't they add .SEX .XXX .PORN or any of the other proposed variants, considering 80% of the internet is funded by the stuff. smirk

PSS. I also notice this forum has a problem parsing email addresses ending .name. When you goto edit your post... it doesn't reverse the <a href> tag as it normally should.

Well. At least I won lunch.
Good philosophy, see good in bad, I like!
