Hi

I'm having Unhandled Exceptions in my mIRC.

Configuration:
- Athlon XP 3000+
- 512mb RAM DDR Corsair XMS Twins
- Motherboard ABIT NF7-S
- Windows XP Professional and Windows 2003 Enterprise
- mIRC Version: 6.12

The Dr. Watson (Windows NT/2k error manager) shows this:

The application, C:\ic3\IRCs\#PokePlanet Bot\mirc.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 10/29/2003 @ 14:58:54.902 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 0042B579 (mirc)

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

As loaded scripts i have my bot, which use sockets, signals, timers and so on.

I think it's randomical, because sometimes it happens after 10 minutes of mIRC run, and sometimes after 10 hours.

In mirc 6.03 it doesn't happens, then, it's a bug of news versions (6.1x)

Thanks in advance,
ic3.

I have exactly the same problem (and almost the same memory address for the exception).
Maybe you are using sysreset?
I do and I know that many people using this script are experiencing random crashes with mirc 6.1x (everything was fine with 6.03).
If you're interested about this, there's a thread on the sysreset message board.
For now, it seems that the crash occurs at the end of a chat fserve session, precisely when the chat window closes.
No workaround found at this time, sorry...

No. I'm using a bot what i make.
It's use DCC Chat's. Use /close, and On Close
Where in closing is the problem? When i close, or when remote client closes?

Thanks,

As far as we've seen, it seems to be when remote client close his chat window using the cross close button.
But as it is random, it is not every time and can't be reproduced at will...
Maybe you could log your fserve accesses to see when the crash takes place? Would give an indication.
Whatever it's very interesting that more than one script is experiencing the same crash.

It's interesting to see someone else reporting exactly the same bug that I reported just two posts down. I sure wish someone would find a fix for it.

From the looks of the post at the Sysreset forum, this is not unique to just Sysreset, but to all fserves. I understand that mIRC may not be primarily a file sharing program, but that IS what a lot of us use it for so please FIX it!
