Forums Bug Reports Mirc 6.12 DCC Chat OverFlow

After reading the ( http://www.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/securityfocus/bugtraq/2003-10/0236.html ) post, I whipped up this alias that demonstrates the vulnerability. It works when you accept and minimize the DCC, and then hover the mouse over the name of the DCC in the channel list. The popup is were the overflow happens. Put the following line in your aliases, and use "/own3 nick"

Just though it would help you guys find the problem. it was said in the bugtraq post that no one knew how it worked or what the exploit looked like. sorry for that.

In the future, please mail Khaled directly, or PM one of the moderators on the forum with the code. We don't need "skript kiddies" running around acting like they are "31337 h4x0rs" >:P
