Forums mIRC Help New bug on my irc

yea... well suddenly for no reason, whenever i type anything, it comes up on my irc but no1 else can read it... and im not on invisible mode before you ask

so im sure theres a hidden setting ive missed or has any1 had this problem?

try typing:
/!say <message>
can they read it then?

well i found out its not an irc thing, its a channel thing, only happens in the starchat channels... which surprisingly is the one i need... so, does that help to show what the problem might be?

tried reinstalling, redownloading etc...

invisible mode wouldn't keep your text from being see by others in the channel .. but a moderated channel (+m) would require you to have a + (or % or @) to be able to have your text seen by others

thats what a friend said, we established it isnt that... every1 in the room can talk... and also ive been going to this channel for about 2 weeks then the problem only suddenly happened...

a day before it happened i was having problems connecting there if it helps... could it be an IP or port problem or something like that?

look so your address arent banned in any way, "on som network you can join even if banned", and if you are banned, then you cant speak in that channel..

i doubt its a case of being banned... i was talking to the mod earlier and he was trying to fix it lol...

then it can be "Desynch".. and thats a server related problem, if you can, then try connect to another server.. and i think the problem should be solved..

being an irc newbie... what do you mean by another server? i have joined othe rrooms and it works fine... but the idea if i need to use this room... if there is a way to be in the same room on another server let me know

type: /links in your status window "while connected to a server" .. then see if it is any of the servers in that list that you can connect too.. try somone close to you.. as for UK users *.uk .. swedish users *.se and so on..

i did that, then it said retreiving links... then it said end of list... as if there were none, even though i was in the room at the time... am i right guessing thats the problerm?

you should get a @window in the bar at the bottom, it should be called "@links" , and there you should see all the linked server, but look in servers.ini "the server dialog" and see if you can find a server close to you
