Forums mIRC Help You need to identify 2 a registered nick 2 join?

i get this message when i want to joing a certain channel. how do i do this?

from what i understand you need to register a nick and identify via a password to keep it...otherwise you nick will be changed

The channel will be mode +R meaning that you cannot join the room until you have registered a nickname (Through NickServ or other name service) and then identified to that name. This function is likely on because the room you want to enter has been attacked before.

so what can i do to join this channel?

Register your name with Nickserv.. In an editbox, type /nickserv register <password> <mail> replacing the <password> and <mail> entries respectivly. If you need further help, just type /nickserv help register in the edit box, and the irc server will bring up a help text.

Commands vary but normally:
/msg nickserv reigster password email

Everytime you connect you will have to type:
/msg nickserv identify password
(You can (of course) put it in perform).
