I upgraded to mIRC6.12 this week because of the security alert. Prior to this I was having no problems at all with sending and receiving files by DCC. However, after I upgraded, while I could receive files from others, any file I tried to send failed.
The message I received was:
DCC Send of [filename] to [usernick] incomplete (00:00:0 0 KB/Sec)
I am using Windows XP and connect to the Internet via a router and DSL. The mIRC ports are forwarded to my PC from the router, and I have checked that these are the correct ones. I use ZoneAlarm, but mIRC has permission to pass the firewall. No DCC ignores are in place, either on my part or the people I have been trying to send to.
DCC worked perfectly under 6.11. I have now reverted to 6.03 (the only earlier version I was able to get) and again DCC works perfectly - and I have changed nothing else on my system apart from the version of mIRC I am using.
Is this a bug? And can it be fixed so that I can go back to a safer version of mIRC?
Thanks for any comments or suggestions.
