i think that it is wise to update (bug fix) ALL bugs reported in mirc 6.03 (especially script editor) and remove 6.1x versions, on my thinking this new mirc is baaad, mirc 6.03 is the most compatible and the best and i would really like to see mirc 6.04 rather than 6.1x versions

6.1x is better than 6.03, 6.03 lacks the /f* file handling functions, and a whole bunch of fixes and tweaks etc.. The reason why some new bugs have appeared seemingly for no reason is almost certainly due to Khaled switching to a newer compiler - something which was going to happen eventually. Why on Earth would he roll back to a previous and inferior version of mIRC because a few people bitch and whine about GUI changes and can't wait a few goddamn months for all the bugs to be ironed out?

Or word your question better. The number is irrelevant, khaled could have called 6.1 7.01 if he wanted to, or 6.04. Then the 6.11 would now have been 7.02 or 6.05. What's the difference? Nothing. just some things changed, new version number.

He's saying remove all that stuff from 6.1 that everyone is complaining about and make a striped down version called 6.04, what's so hard to understand about that?

Yes, and don't remove /setlayer for the main window, I don't care about some sporadic minor problems.

So you're saying to just fix the bugs in 6.03 and then never add any new features or ever switch to a newer compiler because it will introduce a few bugs for a while? Yeah that makes sense. Think first then talk.

No, he's saying remove the features that we are complaining about in 6.1X, why don't YOU think before you post.

Most of the 'changes' that some people have been complaining about are to do with the minor GUI tweaks, and well frankly, they're <deleted by moderator>.
- There are grips on the switchbar and toolbar. *BOO HOO* - There's a Favorites cascade on the menubar, I'll ignore the fact that it can be switched to a submenu instead. *BOO HOO* - The Servers section of the Options menu has it's own screen now. *BOO HOO* - About 5 menial changes have been made to the toolbar icons. *BOO HOO*
I swear I'd laugh at these people if it wasn't so demoralising to see how pathetic people can be.

Thanks for calling me an imbecile.
I don't recall insulting you, why do you feel the need to insult me?

I didn't insult you specifically, I insulted a non-descript group of people based on something they have in common. If you're one of those people then so be it, it doesn't change my views about them or the subject at hand.

So that's like going around and saying that all Black people are stupid and then saying "well I wasn't talking to you directly" when a Black person gets upset about your comments...
But then again, what do I care if your a perjudiced guy? If you think I'm stupid, that's fine with me.

No, it's not like that at all actually. There's no similarity whatsoever between an illogical form of hatred about the attributes of a person and a well-reasoned dislike for a group of people based on their opinions and resultant actions regarding the minor graphical changes in an IRC client. I think you'll find there's no prejudice in that.
Apart from that though it was a 'nice try' at a comparison, really it was.

Actually, I think it was more than a "nice try comparison". I believe he was not referring to the nature of the insult, but to the the suggestion that applying an insult to a group of people is not insulting every member of that group. In my opinion, yes, it's a weaker form, but it's still an insult.

this isnt directed to any one person, i clicked on the last post.
If you want to disagree about your preferences in versions, fine. We really dont need yet another bickering flamefest. Its accomplishes nothing. Feel free to state your opinion about versions. Take your opinions of each other private.
