Some IRCd's like Bahamut require you to connect on a certain port with "/server hostname:port username:password" to enable operator host masking. For some reason, filling out the same fields in File -> Options -> Connect -> Add|Edit doesn't cut it.

Almost seems like there's a difference in what mIRC does with the data (sends) from typing the above example on the text line and what's configured in the options. If I configure the IRCd to allow host masking from port 6665, I still have to specify the port number on the text line, even though mIRC defaults to it.

Am I missing something? Thanks!

Ok, this is what I type to connect to my server with the oper hostmasking.

/server -m irc.myserver.com:7149 portpassword:myusername:mypassword

So, to login through the regular server dialogue...

Simply stick in the server & port as normal, then put..

[*]portpassword:myusername:mypassword

as the password field.

Works fine for me that way smile

The box said "Requires Windows 98 or Higher". So, I installed Linux.
