Help!

I am having two problems with the DCC file transfers. My first problem is that when trying to send a file to (any) friends, i get this error message:

Every person i try to send the file to, gets this message. Any ideas?

The next problem, is that when downloading files from servers, there is no problem, files will download from friends and servers at the full download rate, but it will not let me resume. When requesting the resume it just times out every time (even from friends)

Please help as this is quite annoying. I have port 113 blocked which is preventing Identd - would this stop me sending files?

Any ideas greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Easy solution, instead of sending your friends an illegal game, tell them to visit www.bestbuy.com and buy it.

The filename supplied was merely an example - and whether i try to send an 'illegal' game or not, the error is still the same.

There is no law of having a backup copy of your games, so long as you own the original. Also, it is not illegal to use a copy of these games for evaluation purposes as long as it is deleted after 24 hours.

Does anybody have any comments that are relevant, that might help?

Oh, and as for the picky ones, here's another example.

Thanks

No wonder nobody ever buys Microsoft products, if their packaging looks as crap as that.

I'm guessing all these irrelevant comments are masking the truth that none of you guys actually know what the problem is - i came here for help and got jokes instead.

Is that what you all are? Jokes?

many people here have answered questions like this before, just because noone wants to help you trade illegal files doesn't mean they dont know the answer.
however if you search you might find your answer.

I have already searched this forum, and read the mIRC FAQ file. Neither of these resources can tell me the answer as to why the error message is coming up. If you can point me in the right direction then it will be a starting point. And anyway, a simple .cue file (As was in the original error screenshot), is NOT an illegal file. A .cue file can be given any filename and it will still work. As for trading illegal files, i don't see anything illegal about a simple text document with a file path inside, do you?

Well thanks for the link, it's all i was asking for in the first place. I have a vaige idea as to why this is happening, although a lot of the posts don't make a great deal of sense (foreign?).

I won't be able to test anything until Tuesday night as i cannot even initiate a DCC Get anymore (I have the problem that my ISP fixed yesterday.. again), and they have scheduled work on their network for Tuesday Morning.

I'll let you know when i am able to transfer again.

Thanks all
