I am on a college campus and i can not seem to get connected to IRC i have been trying for so long can anyone help me Please please please

Talk to the system admin, chances are he's blocked ports or blocked mIRC. Either way he will know.

99.999%, not to say 100% of school organizations/colleges got everything blocked...!! There is like 0% chance for you to get on irc from school!

at my school we can go on msn messenger every day. but were only allowed to use irc on fridays

our school has everything you can think of blocked... we just got a smartass freakin (supposedly "hacker") tech administrator and you cant really do anything at all -_-

Hmmmmmmm I was sent here from another thread about the college campus issue? Can you please just tell me how to connect. I tried proxy servers and stuff but I just don't know how to put them in properly in the mirc options. :S
I need my irc!!!!!!!!!!

How about following your campus rules, and--i know this might be hard but--not use irc?

It's not a campus rule, it just comes as part of the security setup.

there is a reason why it is part of the setup. Ports are not just blocked because they feel like. 9:10 times it intentional, and they dont want you using the port. Either way, this is a help forum. The forum is not here to help you bypass a security setting.

Then it automatically becomes a campus rule. If something is not allowed by the setup of the system, it is not allowed.

So you're saying that if your keyboard is configured wrongly and you can't enter your password for a program that program isn't allowed to be accessed by the rules and you shouldn't go about trying to fix the problem?

If it's so valid to be IRC at your compus, ask an administrator how you can access IRC, not us. If they aren't making a full attempt to block that port, I'm sure they can help you.

well in university we also have the ports closed for mirc. but there is alwais a way to turn around it

Please remember that we dont help ppl find ways to evade school/business/network etc policies. If it isnt allowed, helping someone evade a policy could be helping to get them fired/kicked out. NOT something we'd like to be known for.
