Be more specific.

As such, I understand you want a autocompletion feature as IE has in it's address bar. What I don't see is a purpose for this. mIRC is a chatting program, chatting means typing a lot of different lines in a row to form a conversation. The auto-complete would try to complete the line(s) you previously spoke, which everyone already saw, so what good would such a feature do?

I think he means the command editbox, which not necessarily deals with conversations.

That would annoy me so much so if this is implemented I'd like to see a switch so I could make sure it's turned off. For the sake of typing (often only one character) it's much easier to keep track of things by typing the lot out or using the tab key where appropriate.

To go through previous lines entered in the editbox, use the Up arrow key. To complete a nick, type a few characters of it and press Tab.

Command auto-completion would be a nice feature to have. If you know a builtin or aliased command but you can't spell all the letters right off your head, you can just Tab it.

Personally if you are referring to things like

Kin[Tab]--
KingTomato

and

/ni[Tab]--
/nick

That would be kind nice >:D

Agreed, this would be a handy feature.

I'd also like to see an identifier to compliment this function, allowing me to enumerate every command and alias by name, and to find out which one has a higher priority. This identifier should support wildcard characters so one could do, $alias(*tok,0) and access all the Token Identifiers. Additional parameters/properties would indicate if commands/ identifiers/ custom aliases should be included in the mix.
