To all mIRC users here, I know you all have had friends on ircv that you would love to get into contact with again. I am in one of those situations now. I am calling out to all the helpfull irc users to help me. I used to be on irc 24/7 then I joined the military like a idiot and for the past year and a half I have been unable to get on irc. I am currently in Iraq and i have found out just today what has happened to dalnet. frown I shall miss dalnet imensly. But the good news is that i have found where my friends are now, I am asking for assistance to get in touch with them and tell them where to find me, Please PM me if you will be kind enough to help me. Thank you and happy irc'ing!

Are you in need of a dalnet server?

Here are two that work for me:
    dragons.ca.us.dal.net (66.40.25.214)
    mesra.kl.my.dal.net (61.6.39.100)

Perhaps someone could recommend a web-irc proxy that allows connection to DALnet, or a site that has a Java or Flash client that permits you to enter any servername you choose.

These do not need to be downloaded (installed), but work from within your web browser. You would need Java or Flash plugins installed for the latter two options, of course.

If you just need a message posted to a channel or to someone by /msg, go ahead and PM the info to me.

Good luck with the military thing, I nearly got sucked in myself.
I sometimes wonder if I should have followed through or not.

I only know of server-specific java IRC clients...

Try the www. address of the irc server you want... www.dal.net maybe? It might have a jIRC client. smile
