can anyone help me make an auto away that automatically sends a message to all channels i am in saying that i am away after a certain amount of time and repeats that message every 20 minutes after until i set myself back. i've had a lot of problems with the previous auto-away's i have made. i'd appreciate any help. thanks.
This one will give you problems too. Most channels do not allow those automated timed messages. Just do one when you leave and one when you return and one if ppl msg you if you absolutely have to. I wouldn't tho - no one cares.

Also, since the server sends a "nick is currently away...." numeric when you /msg someone who is away, there should never be a need to also send a message to the user telling them.
