Wrong section of the forum for this.

Neways, if you are talking about the backgrounds in mIRC, mine are all plain black.

oh i am by far no expert in designing anything ..... what ive done has taken me lots and lots of time ..... most ppl could probably hammer out in 6 hours what takes me 6 weeks of reading and reasearching and getting help. in my treeviwe im stil lacking the ability to detect channels lists windows and links windows ...... ive gotten around the one by use of a script hammer posted about making a separate links window using the map command..... anyhow im sure there are several ppl out there more worthy of writting a tutorial than me

its nice to have an idea in your head of what you want and then try to attempt to make it possible ...... that treeview list is more or less a cross roads of something i had to accept rather than what i really wanted to do with it. i wanted to use the mdx dialog i had done before and be able to really make custom icons for away nicks and the like. what came to be and what i initially started out with are entirely two different things. my buttons ended up on the treeview instead of below a docked nicklist. that btw was working to my intent ..... it was just to server resource intensive and i tossed it and ended up using nicklust.dll for the nicklist. then went to work on the treeview. my script has atleast 10 dialog windows to it and i used dstudio to make them all as it was much better than tryin to guess where alignments should be. quicker too. most of the time ive spend on this forum was reading up on dialogs and dialog commands and identifiers. id like to hope it has paid off. i started learning by going thru other ppls scripts seeing what they did to achieve something similar. and then tryin to do something in my own. for me that was far easier than simply reading anyhelp file. i learn by example, granted yes the help file included in mirc is invaluable and it spends most of its time open whenever im even touching the remotes section. what u see is a time gathered script ive been working on for over a year. if u look at it in that respect its not really that great.

thats what makes it great, instead of just asking somebody how, you went around looking yourself in various places to help you achieve it,and the result of it looks great as well.
remember that during that year, you didnt just make it, you had to learn it 1st.
