It's in Raw 5 so it can't be unless:

1. You spelt something wrong in the new script "halfdef" is a common typo in this regard.
2. You have another "Raw 5" script somewhere clashing with this one.

On other alternative is to try:

raw 005:*:haltdef

...but it is the same thing really.

You need to make sure there's only one per script file and make sure one doesn't repeat a message while the other is trying to halt it. grin

The & prefix
You can prevent an event from being triggered if a previous script used /halt or /haltdef to halt the display of default text for an event by using the & prefix.

on &1:TEXT:*:?:/echo this event won't trigger if $halted is true
