mIRC is intended to be very system friendly, using only a couple megs of harddrive space and system memory, and will still run on a 286 or the old 90mhz pentium in your closet.
OS: Windows 95 or greater.
CPU: x86 of 33mhz or greater.
RAM: 2 to 8 MB typical use.
HDD: under 2.1 MB installed.
A Modem or Network Connection.
Video, CD-Rom, Keyboard, Mouse, etc Optional.
¹RAM and Harddrive usage increases with use if logging is enabled, files are downloaded, scripts are installed, or as window buffers increase.
²Additional CPU speed desired for smoother operation.
³Die-Hard Windows 3.1 users can still download the last 16-bit version of mIRC v5.91 from 15-June-2001.
Thats what it said on the side of the box my mIRC came in, anyway. (Hmm, wonder how much it'd cost to put mIRC on store shelves, seriously.)
