Forums mIRC Help Cant Read PM's

I have this problem. When people try to Pm me, my IRC does the triple bing but then immediately closes the window down. It happens so fast that i dont even know who is trying to message me.

Any ideas on what this can be? At the same time people are unable to DCC files to me.

Do you have any scripts installed? Download a plain copy of mIRC and install it into a different directory and see if you still have the same problem.

For the DCC problem, do you receive any error messages?

Ive already deleted the MIRC, including from the registery.

reinstalled that but still the same problem, did the same again and resintalled the earlier version

but still didnt fix it so reinstalled 6.03.

Are you connecting to a network with usermodes +mM?

Type /mode <your nickname here> to check. "m" restrict private chats until you are in the same room as the user you want to talk to and "M" blocks all private chats altogether. Some servers may have the same functions as this but with different mode letters, check your servers help service to verify this.

xp2200
asus mobo
80gig hdd
gf4 ti4800

any of these could cause a problem?

Still the same problem. Triple bing, and the window closes instantly. I am however getting DCC's now

If you type /debug @debug
when you receive a message, can you paste us what appears in the @debug window?

Ok i tried. and this is what i get

but i get another window which basically types all the messages which i get in all my channels.

Get someone to PM you and paste the last few lines of what is in the @debug window so we can see what the server is sending you.

It shows that you are in fact receiving the messages. Try typing /remote off and see if it works.

It shuts off all scripts you have loaded. You should now go through all the scripts you have loaded to find the exact one causing the problem.
