this has been said many times before but,you have to make your dll's compatible for mirc, not for khaled to make mirc compatible for your dll's.

Hey it's only been said Once before. And it's up to Khaled, Not for you to speak on his behalf. There would be NO mIRC DLL's at all if Khaled had not made them compatible with mIRC. I am only asking to extend comaptibilty to C#.

I'd like to see C# and VB.NET support as these two languages are the new upcoming ones that are going to get seen more often soon.

Well, C# is cool language, but basicly, why use C#, when you can code anything you want in C++. Or use the perl snippet by (don't remember his name). Why extend mirc's compability when it's already compatible with the most used programming languages? crazy

You don't think that maybe some users would like the added abilitys that C# has to offer over C++? Thats like saying why not make everything in C, rather than C++...

Every language has its strengths and weaknesses. I'll admit I don't know too much about C#, but I think the information I have is correct. If you make a program in C++, that program will only work on the architecture it was created for, for example, x86. Well Windows works on more than just x86, it works on alpha (WinNT) for example. If I made mymirc.dll compiled for an x86 machine, it would not work for people who run Windows on an alpha processor. C# isn't like that. C# uses something similar to the Java VM. A C# program can work on any OS/architecture that has a .NET framework. C# also offers other things that C++ doesn't (technically) have such as managed code, meaning where garbage collection is done automatically. C# and C++ are different languages that approach the same problem from different angles. Depending on what your problem is, one language may be more suited than another.

Why make cars when everyone uses horses? After all the horse responds when kicked and you don't hurt your foot... You don't need to stop at Ampol to refill either.

People tend to drive cars alot more these days however. grin

Yeah well there are certain odors associated with riding horses that you don't have to worry about with cars wink

The reverse also applies.

Yeah well I guess you don't have the benefit of living in Amish country... I'll take the smells of an exhaust pipe over the smells of a horses 'present' that it enjoys leaving on the road in front of your house to bake in the sun for weeks.

I've lived in big cities and in the bush. Both can be repulsive on some days. LP powered cars and horses that have the 'trots' especially. grin

I grew up working on the family ranch. I'm quite familiar with the smells involved, thank you.
