ok i got DSL
followed steps for configureing for XP fire didnt not help
doubled checked all IRC settings
tried different copies of IRC
i have no fire wall at all up not even the XP one
i can send the file they click accept and the conection times out no matter who i send it to so if yall got any helpful ideas let me know

Which version of mIRC are you using?

Are you behind a router or something? If yes, you should ask someone to forward the DCC ports (usually 1024-5000) to your machine.

Do you know other people using the same Internet Service Provider as you use, and do they have the same problem? If yes, it is probably a problem of your ISP and we usually can't help you with it.

the version of Mirc is mIRC v6.03 Khaled Mardam-Bey
im on Bellsouth ISP i know others who upload fine and my isp says im not behind a router.
