Forums Scripts & Popups case sensitive varbales

im being raelly picky about this but wen u use a dialogs edit to edit a variable it makes the variable name lowercase any work arounds?

.set %var $replace($did(id),$did(id),$upper($did(id)))
however that would make the whole variable in caps.
