Well we know that in order to make a whois with a few more information such as the idle time of the user we've to use /whois nick nick or /whois server nick
The thing's that if you've the mIRC option Show whois in active turned on (Options, IRC) and you do a /whois nick nick it displays in the active window. But if you do a /whois server nick it doesn't, it goes to the Status Window. Anything to say about it?

yes, use /whois nick nick smile
as you've said it works fine, and more - it's the right thing t use - you don't always know which server uses the user


And all I need now is intellectual intercourse, a soul to dig the hole much deeper
