Forums mIRC Help Empty Channels?

ok i just downloaded mIRC and i connect fine. then i go to join a channel and it lets me join but when the box pops open my name is the only one that is shown. i've tried countless different channels and i am always the only one. it's not possible that i'm going to ones where there just happens to be no one because they are main channels... why am i all alone?

Try a different net, like EFNet.

What makes you say they are the main channels? It sounds like you're talking about the mIRC channel dialog box that pops up when you connect. These are just channels that appear on one of many networks, they might not exist on the network you use. If you want to see what channels do exist, type /list. This will show you all the channels that have people in them so you can chat. Also if you have a specific type of channel you are looking for you can type something like /list *chat* to search for all general chatting channels.
