im a helper on a help channel, so i use nick completion very often - type 2 chars, press tab, then answer... but its normal for nick completion to first show the wrong nick, then need to press tab again.
my suuggestion is that nick completion first gives the nick which said something most recently. as opposed to sorting alphabetically

That would be very nice. Similar suggestions have been made in the past, all quite interesting. Tab completion can be very powerful, quite more powerful than it currently is.

Might be useful, however I'd suggest it be an option. I'm sure there are some people who like the idea of it working alphabetically, so there should be a way to keep the current setting. I still like the idea personally of something like the /fN aliases for f keys, have a /tab alias where we can make our own nick completor, then you can make it work however you want.

Altho i can see the original point, i agree with codemastr, alpha is entirely too handy to give up completely, especially in help channels where you can be answering several ppl at once (some of whom only need a one line reply)
