You have to get an IRCd (mIRC is just a client) and put it onto your server.

This is not an easy task, you will definetely have to do a little homework.

You can run IRCd on windows but depending on the type of windows it may not be too stable.

Shell accounts are usually, if not always, Unix so I would think it is impossible unless there was a way to run an emulator on the account. If there is a way to run mIRC from a shell I would be VERY interested to find out too. grin

There is an alternative, albeit more expensive than a shell account and that is dedicated Windows hosting. Though this is usually for websites. If money is no object, co-locate a Windows server somewhere and you could have what you like on it. laugh

Technically, yes you could run an mIRC bot on a shell, practically, no you can't. You'd need a provider that allows X11 forwarding (which as far as I know none do), and also running WINE (which again, as far as I know none do). Then you would setup mIRC to run through WINE.

In practice, no you can't run mIRC on a shell account.
