speed is dependant on several factors, including:
-connection at any given time between the two ends
-how much either end is also doing at the same time
-any provider restrictions on either end
-fluctuations in internet connection speed at either end (which also have a number of poss factors)
-various packet sizes may make a diff in speed

...Not to mention the fact that using XDCC bots to download warez is illegal, and not what IRC or mIRC is originally for smile - Start chatting, stop downloading, and the world will be a better place!

Happy chatting

yet another post about downloading always being for illegal purposes... i actually run an fserv where i serv the files for my open source software and shyt. saying downloading is only for warez and shyt is like me saying you just chat to find young children who will meet you so you can do who knows what, and if you arent into that then you are looking for some cyber sex. i mean that is what the majority does right, so that means its everytime. stop flamming fservs and just help the guys out.

as to the shyt about your connection going under the limit. Most FServs have a KB/sec limit. If the speed goes under this limit the serv terminates the send. This is to prevent people holding up the line. FServs are queue based, so someone downloading a 700MB file at 2KB/sec takes forever and prevents others from getting their sends. If the connection speed just drops dramatically, and you did nothing, it is usually them doing something... they may have Kazaa running on top of an FTP server, on top of a Web Server, which is all on top of their FServ you are accessing. So just requeue the file

Must you repetitively use the same made up word in every post? dictionary.com is there for a reason. And the majority of chatting isn't cybersex. I guess you wouldn't know seeing as you apparently think IRC is a filesharing service.

about your view on filesharing, a moderator here posted a link about the new crack-down on illegal filesharers, they are starting to get the individuals "details" from isp's, so lets see if these agree with you when you get caught smirk

"stop flamming fservs and just help the guys out."

and just how did your post help anyone? The original poster was given a number of reasons as to why his speed may drop under the minimum. Spare us your rants about illegal filesharing in every post liberally sprinkled with what appears to be your fav word. I dont know if you think your deliberate misspelling is cute (it isnt) or designed to evade a filter, or you just have a limited imagination.

Well I don't know about you but I am just a chatter on IRC...thats right I said I chat, I use my copy of mIRC to get into contact with other people throughout the IRC community and just talk about common issues. I don't use my mIRC for anything else.

The members of this message board reserve the right to "Flame and Shame" the porn peddlers and media whores who use mIRC for their illegal activities...yes thats right I said illegal...majority of the files shared through mIRC are in fact copyrighted and distributed illegally.

I'm not even going to go into the cybersex topic cause that not my business to comment except that hey at least the person is actually chatting with someone rather than using mIRC as a P2P program in which case it is not...

By the way the new Websters Collegiate Dictionary was released today with 10,000 new words and as far as I know the word "shyt" isn't one of them. So you may want to look into that...besides it isn't in any way funny.
