Forums Connection Issues STILL too throttled???

hi.. this started last night. i would try to connect on the server (irc.phazenet.com) and after i get the message of hte day, i'd get disconnected and it would give me the error message: "tractor.ok.us.phazenet.com- You have been throttled...." so first i waited 5 mins (when it said i was throttled for 2mins) and then it said i was throttled for 5 mins, so i waited half an hour, but then it said throttled for 2 mins again! and today (about 12 HOURS later) it still keeps saying i'm throttled??)

here are my retry options settings:
if not connected... 60 secs
retry conn.. 99 times
retry delay 30 secs

anyone got any ideas??

Maybe talk to them about their throttling?

Or you could do /debug <filename> and try connecting. See if a script or something is sending a crapload of stuff to the server that you don't know about.

That won't cause a throttle. A throttle just stops too many connections from the one IP logging in over a preset number of seconds and is mainly a protection against the buildup of clones.

I would definetely contact them, either that or someone is using your IP to connect alot.....or the throttle could be basing off of ISP instead of you, individually.

I would contact them via their abuse email or see if they have a bulletin board on the website for the server.

i emailed them but never got any response.... but eventually (a couple of days later, i was FINALLY able to connect.... still not sure what happened though..... just glad it's over with (hopefully that is...)

Even though you're back on, I'd let them know (in a help channel maybe) about the issues you had-could be a problem for others that they don't realise is going on.
