The server pools for DALnet only occasionally work, and the server which is usually routed to them is a .us server, so it might not work for all people anyway. Server pools such as:
irc.dal.net
irc.eu.dal.net
irc.us.dal.net
irc.au.dal.net
irc.ca.dal.net
irc.as.dal.net
...you get the picture - they won't work
(most of the time.)
You may or may not be aware this is because of the attacks against the network, and the fact that hundreds, if not thousands, of drones are pointed at those addresses.
Servers you might like to try are:
kernel.dal.net (Georgia, USA)
jade.dal.net (Vancouver(?), USA)
hotspeed.dal.net (Singapore, Asia)
matrix.dal.net (Germany, Europe)
arcor.dal.net (Germany, Europe)
mesra.dal.net (Malaysia, Asia)
powertech.dal.net (Norway, Europe)
genesis-r.dal.net (United Kingdom, Europe)
Or, as previously posted, try the servers on the server list on DALnet's website (yes, it has been updated) - Some servers do not appear on it however, as they're sometimes not linked or have been linked recently (i.e. jade.dal.net only recently came back.)
