Agreed. One thing though, if this is implemented, no one will be using DragonZap's mdx dll anymore. Ah well...

I don't disagree that they should be added, but I doubt the fact that they will be part of mIRC will make them signifigantly easier to use.

How would it not be easier to use? Are saying it would be just as difficult as MDX?

of course it would be ..... why would the same function being incorporated into mirc be any easier?

By difficult, what do you exactly mean? I'm assuming you mean aligning the controls and stuff like that. If that's what you mean, then with the help of a program called 'Dialog Studio', it should be a piece of cake. I don't know if it is being developed any longer though.
If you're not talking about aligning, then explain what would be difficult about using the controls.

It would be easier in the sense that the syntax would be more consistent with mIRC's, making it more familiar to the average scripter. Although it's hard to simplify things like treeviews etc, I think Khaled would still make it 'easier' than MDX for the newcomer to grasp.
Being able to use listviews and treeviews without MDX would be awesome.

The upside to this would be that having these functions native to mIRC would make the whole process work faster.
The downside starts with the security risks involved, and doesn't end anywhere before the end of this page.

Well instead of converting a listbox, I think using
trackbar 1,x y x y
would be easier.

Well I guess, but thats because you think converting the listbox is hard, where as it seems rather trivial to me.

i find it easy to but it would still be such simpler if mirc had it, also it makes the script look untidy cos its different from most other code

Its also not as easiy "portable" when you use dll's. You have to make sure there is a dll, also make sure its in the right locations. In addition, it being intergrated in mirc would make it run faster no less.

actually i doubt id notice a speed increas in a dialog control at all? speed isnt the issue here in this case i wouldnt think... altho i have noticed upon a trial nicklist thru mdx that when setting background behind the listbox the added text makes it flicker when adding colored text to a image background ... maybe it it was inside of mirc ..... this would be prevented ..... so i guess if this were the case i would like it. if it cant prevent that then its really doin something for no reason
