Yeah, well I want people to use the search page before posting, but as your post proved, it's not gonna happen.

Apparently all topics in italilcs never went anywhere. So, why not bring it up again.. seeing if I post to that OLD topic it stays on page 9, and new posts dont bring old toics back to the front which is an odd forum behavior in itself.

But, I digress. Even if people are scared to make a ctrl-i or whatever for mirc, at least make it so i can change my OWN text to italics for personal clientside viewing. Being as it is, when you switch to a italicized font, it defaults to non-italic.

It's not odd, infact I find it quite annoying that some forums rehash irrelevant/already discussed issues. They are the forums that I don't use because when I want to look for a post made on a particular date it is bloody hard to find when the forum changes it's position all the time.

That is what I like about this forum, everything stays still and organised by date and time. I have an ASP powered forum that does the same and I wouldn't have it if it did anything else.

Apparently all topics in italilcs never went anywhere.

The reason for this is that while it wouldn't do any harm, not many people want it.

I would hardly rate /xyzzy as a time-consuming exercise.

Set your default options to only display posts active in the last 2 days, or 1 week. Then if someone posts to a 4 month old thread, it will still appear on page 1. You could also increase the number of threads per page to 50 or 80 or something.

If you're a regular to these forums, that option should be quite suited to you. It's actually silly to do "Show: from all dates", as your screen is cluttered with inactive threads, making you have to page for active threads.
