What's wrong with the current one? I personally like it. The only thing I'd like to see is perhaps a 24bit image for WinXP, but the icon itself looks good to me.

If there's ever an mIRC v7.0, it should have a new icon, along with new toolbar icons, window icons, etc. The same icon gets boring after a while. It's like reliving 1995 over and over again.

mybe if u make a new logo, he'll use it. Afterall (from the help file):

Richard "Budman" Jones, who designed and contributed the logo.

I think the current one is fine though it needs a bit of spit and polish. It needs more detail and perhaps a dash of 3D wouldn't go astray.

Kinda like the one I have for my picture? I don't remember the name of the person who created it though. Of course I don't see anything wrong with the current one though...I say if it ain't broke don't fix it LOL

That isn't bad either. Still the same concept just a bit more defined. I like it also.

This is something I threw together. If you can't see it (it's a PNG file), you can download it here:

http://users.bigpond.net.au/pboy/mirc.png (save target as, or whatever your browser uses to download directly from a link without clicking on it)

Here are a couple of icons I put together. Khaled and the whole community are welcome to use them. If you use them in an application please give credit to Josh Medina.
