G'day.

How do I select text in mIRC without the selection highlight immediately turning invisible (though it still works - if I then copy I've copied the text I dragged the pointer over)?

Windows 10, i5 8400 - so nothing out of the ordinary there.

That is how it works in mirc. Once you release the sélection, it copies the selection to your clipboard, contrôle + c and such is notre ding anything.

The selected text is auto-copied as soon as you release the mouse button; you don't have to press Ctrl-C to copy it.

Go to mIRC help, and under "Other Features" select "Text Copy and Paste" and you can read all about it! 😉

Oh, weird. Some old convention the dev liked? But I guess it works. Kind of annoying to clutter up my clipboard utility with any incorrect selections, since this method is a 'once chance to get it right' method of selecting and copying text, but oh well.
