I like to keep complete log files in the event I have to look something up, but I also like to keep my channel windows tidy from the onslaught of join, part, quit messages in larger chats. So far, I am not finding any solution that allows me to hide certain events from a channel only, but still allow those events to be logged to file.

I notice there's a window $timestamp and a log $logstamp, and there's an /edit -g to prevent something from logging, but there doesn't appear to be any way to make something be sent to log only and not appear on the screen. It's currently impossible to /dline events already printed to a channel window. I'm afraid to directly /write to a log file, lest it becomes corrupted.

Any features I've missed?

Well. At least I won lunch.
Good philosophy, see good in bad, I like!
