Forums mIRC Help problem with sound alerts on private messages

On mirc 6.35, I'm having issues with sound alerts when I receive private queries.

On other (older) mirc versions, whenever I would receive a private message, I would get a sound alert.

Now on 6.35, I only receive an alert when someone starts the query (and the window opens), but not after the next messages.

How do I get a beep whenever I receive message and not only when I receive the first one?

The query event sound should only play when the query window is first opened. Once the window is open, any new messages to that window will cause mIRC to "beep", if you have the "beep on message" "query" option enabled, which it appears that you do. If you are not hearing a beep when a new message arrives, you may need to enable the "use internal beep" option.
