i want that this event will work for ALL windows and not just custom windows, so i can do it for # etc..

you don't need the on keydown/up for channels. that's what on input or on editbox is for.

Oh Contraire!

It would be exceedingly handy to play with the input... such as detecting spelling errors as I type, advanced nick completion that doesn't require dialogs or going back over what I typed as it comes up with suggestions, and even keep track of my WPM! I have no idea how fast I type in practice, and I never will until On KeyUp/Down works in channel windows.

PS. There is no On EDITBOX.
PSS. don't argue with me about in practice... its unbending definition means "what I type in a channel window".

I know what you mean. For years I wish it worked in all windows. I hope it's implemented in the follow up version to 6.03.

Right, I'm aware of that method... but it's extremely ugly and I just refuse to resort to timer hacks of that nature, especially if it means to have a timer that's always going.
