it makes it more readable.

Column justification and other customized theme support are frequent requests. Of note, it would require a massive overhaul of mIRC to meet these requests.

You can achieve similar results through scripting, though not completely ideal and rather tedious.

Me, personally, that text is pushed way too far to the right and squished. I suppose it's just a matter of taste though.
