If you are a Twitch.tv user, your email address and hashed passwords were stolen, along with any other private information you submitted to the site.

If you used the same email and password to register to the mIRC.com forums, please take this moment to change your password now.

Even though the passwords that were stolen from Twitch.tv are cryptographically hashed, it is possible for hackers to decipher them with enough time.

Every twitch user is now forced to change their password as they re-log in to the twitch account. All connections with 3rd party software such as the Oauth token and connections with Steam/Twitter/mIRC/Custom have been cut and will need to re-enabled manually.

It still stands necessary to change your password on any other website with which you used the same password as Twitch. Do this now. Use different passwords for every website.

this is misinformation.

The passwords that were 'hacked' WERE encrypted.

Malicious code (ads) managed to get onto twitch march 3rd that may have grabbed user passwords as plain text

What he was posting at the end "Kappa" is twitch jargon meaning 'sarcasm'.
Most commonly used in poor excuses of "jokes" such as he used it.
