I read the information in the thread specifically on this subject "Uninstall Problems", however in my case, I did install mIRC myself years ago, but I haven't used it in the past few years. Since I don't use it anymore, and wanted to clean up, I tried to uninstall it but am having mIRC pop up when I turn on my computer. It still has all the info(servers, channels, nickname) that I had put in the program and used.

My question is do I have the virus mentioned in the other thread?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I did not have the problem with mIRC popping up until after I uninstalled the program.

Did you try deleting the mirc folder?

mIRC has no option or feature that makes it appear on startup, so if you are seeing mIRC appear on startup, the "Uninstall Problems" thread applies to you. Note that it is unlikely you will be able to remove any trojans or viruses just by deleting the mIRC folder. You will need to read through the thread and follow the instructions provided.

Must have been a strange coincidence that I received the virus on the same day I deleted mIRC. I appreciate the clarification.
