I'm having an odd problem. DCC transfers to some people stall after starting. It might transfer 1% to 50% and then it'll just stop sending packets. Other people never have problems getting a file from me.

I've tested it with folks I know who are watching it from their end and they are just as confused.

I am now using upnp but if I set ports in the router instead, it does the exact same thing. My mirc is 7.27, router is wndr4000 and windows 7 64bit.

So no one else has ever had this problem? I find that hard to believe.

It happens with a select set of people "you know", which means it's likely a small sample size, and not random.

Which means it's more plausible that:

You, or they, are just having connection issues. Perhaps your route to that specific set of hosts is unreliable.

Or, perhaps, one of you is on a wifi network and it's cutting out constantly...

Its safe to say that your assumptions are wrong in this case.

It seems that when I attempt to dcc files to person A, it always works. Person B, it starts then fails at some point during the transfer. It will not resume. If I change to passive transfers, it will never start with person B.

I changed my settings from upnp back to port forwarding and it started working again. Really really weird.

If anybody else has this problem. I set ports to 1024-2000 in mirc. The router is now set to port-forward 113, 1024-2000 and 6660-6670. Everything is now working perfectly.

I don't think upnp is working right. My router is an WNDR4000 with the latest firmware.
