Hi.

When I start mIRC, it starts as if it's the first time starting it ever (default settings for colors, nicks, options menu settings are all defaults, options menu pops up on start, etc), it also doesn't recognise the few scripts I use. This happened spontaneously for the second time now.

The weird part is that it's kept the settings for what channels and networks I use and perform text.

I'm wondering if this is a common problem, and if so, is there a fix?

The files containing settings information still exist.

something that prevent your mirc to write to mirc.ini from time to time? maybe your virus protection?

This can happen anytime mIRC closes unexpectedly while trying to write to the mirc.ini file. Shutting down Windows without closing mIRC first can sometimes cause this, though usually only if you Force Shutdown while mIRC's still running. A computer crash or power outage can also cause it. Beyond those things, anything else that might prevent mIRC from correctly writing to the mirc.ini file could be the cause. Antivirus or some kind of hard drive scan may cause problems, though I haven't personally seen that happen. The only times I've ever lost settings like that was from a computer crash or from mIRC crashing.
