I can't for the life of me figure out what is crashing mIRC 7.19 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-Bit for me exactly, and for the past month or two as well.

First I thought it was OpenSSL, I upgraded that, then I tried a problem called What Is Hang in order to see what exactly the problem was and I got this, which is of no help.

"Remarks:
* The program hangs in a single system call. You can look in the call stack and stack data to find out which API function cause this hang.

I even made a crash dump and minidump that I haven't had the chance to go through.

These crashes are happening completely at random within 5 minutes of use to 2 hours of being connected to a server on mIRC. Has anyone else had these and figured out how to fix them?

In mIRC copy/paste the following and report the results here:

//echo -a $file($mircexe).sig $md5($mircexe,2) $version $os $script(0) $dll(0)

- argv[0] on EFnet #mIRC
- "Life is a pointer to an integer without a cast"

The one script I have is the basic remote.ini loaded and I've commented every "on *" event.

Did you manage to get it crashing without using ssl ? or without being connected at all ?

I actually haven't left it open long enough without being connected to see if it crashes as well, but I'll go ahead and try that now.

I've been getting crashes with and without SSL though.

Very sorry for the double post, but I think I've narrowed it down to either Notify or Highlight for some reason. I had them both turned off and didn't get crashes for a while. Then I turned both back on and got a crash 5 minutes later.

I'm not sure why either would cause a crash, but see if you have any unusual characters (anything besides A-Z,a-z,0-9 and standard punctuation) in either location. Perhaps something is causing a problem. If you do, try removing those specific ones and see if it still happens.

Well, that's odd. I turned them back on and then off again and I still get crashes.

I did have a duplicate highlight of sorts in a way, since I was using $me for a highlight, plus my base username for changing nicks to get highlights if I used something out of the ordinary like a quick status nick.

But anyway, now I'm not sure why it was lasting fine for that point I had Highlight and Notify off. These crashes are utterly confusing me.
