Now I know mIRC supports halfops just fine, but I would like to see ON HELP, and ON DEHELP renamed ON HALFOP, and ON DEHALFOP. I've yet to see a single server that refers to +h as 'helper', they all call it halfop. I wouldn't remove ON HELP/ON DEHELP, keep it for backwards compatibility, but I would add the ON HALFOP and ON DEHALFOP.
HalfOp Information: When you see "%" (+h) in front of a nick name that means the person is an "helper" of the particular channel they are in, +h means he/she is HelpOp and he/she has privileges to kick and ban a person (except Ops), set the topic and so on. Note: The HalfOp mode is not supported by all IRCd's (networks). You will have to check the network for it.
Also just looking over the helpfile, calling it 'help' makes it confusing. "This triggers when a user with access level 9 is opped/voiced/helped on any channel." When a user is helped? Does that mean that in a support channel, a user that is currently being helped should be set +h? Because thats the way it makes it sound...
In any case, Merlin where did you get that quote from?
cmode +h - 'Half-op'. This will allow a user to set all of the above cmode modes, (and some more below..), whilst stopping the user cmode from doing harm to the channel. Users who are +h CANNOT cmode kick opped (+o) users, or set modes +h/-h/+o/-o. cmode
yea but if you say $hnick is the user being helped... That sentence literally means it is a user who is being helped out. If you know $hnick is for +h then you're fine, but if you don't it can be confusing.
