I'm bored and speculative.
What WOULD it be like?
Would I have a better social life?
Would I be doing an IT job?
Would I remember to eat more often?
Would I have stooped to chatting with other clients (ew?)
Would I have my razor sharp venomous tounge?
Would I be able to type so fast?
Would I be able to crush someone's hand with my super typing-strengthened hands?
Would I have devolved into a monkey like creature and lived in the jungle?

What about you? What kinda impact has this had on your life? Not IRC, but mIRC.

Then we would simply use another IRC client.

A somehwat better question would be, what would life be like if IRC didn't exist?

But then there would be an answer, that we'd simply chat using some other protocol or technology.

The best question in this context would be, what would life be like if Internet didn't exist?

Well life without mIRC would only mean that other clients would be used. Who know's maybe MS Comic Chat would be dominant throughout the IRC community. Maybe everyone would resort to chatting via Telnet *Yuck*. Maybe people would be bored with their everyday lives without the escape from reality to IRC through mIRC. Who knows. All I can say is if it wasn't for IRC in general my special lady and I, wouldn't have met...let alone be living together... Who knows what may have been if mIRC wasn't even thought of.

Are you so sure that people would simply use other chat clients?
I know that I didn't like ANY of the chat clients I ever used until mIRC.

Bark! I have real work to do (argh)

Well given the hypothetical circumstances, if mIRC didn't exist, then yes its highly possible that other clients would be used. Now whether or not people like/dislike these clients is their personal choice, however since this is a hypothetical question that mIRC doesn't exist, you really don't have much of a choice. Either use a client you do not like, or just simply not chat. But mIRC does indeed exist and will probably continue to dominate all other chat clients that are available.

Very true and I would probably use Bersirc. It is certainly the best looking one out of them all.

I'd have a better tan because I hated everything and still haven't found anything I like besides mIRC & it's use is for scripting 99% of the time .. chatting only 1%, if that much. smirk

Edit: Only 1% chatting because I'm so
damn easy to get along with I'm sure.
wink
