As this thread was mentioned here, I thought I might add something that I noticed:

Quote:
1. There'd be alot of car accidents (We drive on the left side of the road to avoid that) [etc.]

A common mistake (and I think one you've since rectified in your mind since posting that), is thinking that a lot is one word. As demonstrated, it's two.

As for the discussion of the 'u', being English and possibly the most pedantic person on Earth when it comes to the English language, I like the 'u' being there. It's kinda disheartening to see that mIRC uses the Americanised spelling of things (i.e. color), but I guess it's the more obvious choice.

Given that I do not intend to live in this horrible (getting-oh-so-worse-at-a-rapid-rate) country, I may have to get used to the American way when I emigrate! That said, Australia is another choice of where to escape to and until now I was unsure whether they were Americanised too. Yay for Australia!

Oh, an irrelevant note, but I despise those McDonald's signs that say "drive thru". Sheesh.

[/rant]

Regards,

Mentality/Chris

I'll blame the 'alot' issue on packet loss  haha.

On another note...

That said, Australia is another choice of where to escape to and until now I was unsure whether they were Americanised too. Yay for Australia!

It's kinda funny in a way, we generally have unique ways of doing things, just like any place though what you may be surprised to discover is that many things are the best of British and American added together with a dash of "she'll be right mate" - it's all good.

lol. They made sure of that alright - anyone who put a foot out of place got hanged. I think there were more hangings here than in GB at the time lol. Bad luck if you were hungry/broke and needed a loaf of bread ay lol.

Codemastr's post was probably the funniest one in this thread. He seemed to be genuinely concerned that dropbears could actually exist. HAHAHA

The trip would only be shorter if all your turns were to the right? There's a big debate over the legitimacy of "Super Size" takeaway food at the moment. IE: Pay 50c extra for double the amount of fattening McDonalds, Kentucky Fried, etc. Obviously alot of us are getting fat, not just people from one particular country.

And...

This is a dropbear.

http://watchdog.iserv.com.au/pictures/zoo/koala.jpg

There's a legend (not myth!) that has been passed down through generations that the humble koala isn't the cuddly little animal that befits its reputation. Instead it is a dangerous nocturnal savage that dives on people walking under its tree at night.

The bottom line is that if any animal slips it will fall, just like a person would. One person, who obviously survived the ordeal, was able to tell the story the next morning.
