Hi,

Does anyone know if there's a way to revert the search back to the way it was in the previous version of mIRC? I am not really fond of not being able to open more than one file at a time in this new version, plus it keeps me from typing in channel when I am searching the logs - big hassle for me overall. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Options that I can see:
1) Revert back to a version that uses the search method/format you're wanting.
2) Post a request in the Future Suggestions forum.
3) All of the above.

Are you referring to the "Log Files" item in the Tools menu?

In previous versions of mIRC, this opened a Log Files dialog that you could use to search through your logs. This was changed in mIRC 7.1 to open your Log Files folder in Windows explorer, since I assumed this would be more useful to users.

However many users requested that I add the Log Files dialog back (see earlier thread on this topic in this forum), so it is now back in mIRC v7.14.

If you want to open more than one file, you can click the "Edit" button in the Log Files dialog - this will open the log file in your text editor.

Yes, that's what I was referring to. I liked the way 7.1 worked and it was absolutely more useful to me, but I run XP so there might be some differences there, as I've heard Windows 7 is not as robust with search. I'll have to find the prior version and install it again, though I do hate to lose the bug fixes and such from the latest version.

Thank you for your time and the quick reply!

It really isn't too hard to write a log viewer script if you want it to behave differently than the built-in one. Or, you can offer specific suggestions for improving the viewer and maybe Khaled will consider adding them.
