Forums mIRC Help Storing serial number for portable mIRC

I'm pretty sure I read about a possibility to store the serial number / registration data for my mIRC on a portable device/drive by putting it in some txt- or ini-file but I seem to be unable to find that information again.
Could someone please be so kind and give me a hint which way to go?
