i'm ALWAYS forgetting which slash to use for irc commands. so i keep typing \me when i guess it's really /me which is frustrating... because it means i have to google irc commands to figure out which slash to use... or guess and feel stupid when i get it wrong.

so it would be really awesome if there was a way to alias \[command] to /[command] automatically in the mirc client.

You can change the command prefix by going to...

Options (alt+o) > Other > Command prefix:

Remember that it's the /, problem solved? If you can remember / for URLs, I'm sure you can remember / for mIRC commands.

As a hint, nothing is ever "\". Windows paths use \, but if you use / in paths it will work too. Always use / and you'll be fine.
